A few weeks ago we went to the zoo with Heather, Evan and Dylan and had a nice relaxing afternoon. This is a little island in the zoo lake that the monkeys live on. It is so cool to not see them caged up. This is a great exhibit!

I thought the Fort Worth Zoo was good but it is nothing compared to the Phoenix Zoo. I have been many times and each time I go I see something new. It has several neat play areas for the kids, a couple of lakes, paddle boats, bike rentals, and a couple of water play area and a great big tree house with a river running through it.

Here are Dylan and Luke playing on the farm tractor. Notice they are both holding something. - Maps of the zoo. These were a big deal this trip for some reason. Neither boy would let go of them and when we got home Luke and I had to go over the route we took several times.
We are in the process of redoing Luke's bedroom in hopes he will eventually like sleeping in there. We broke down and got him bunk beds. He is super careful when on the top and very cautious so I am not too worried. I have emphasized safety and not going up without me or Juven in there. So far, so good. He had only slept in his new room once though since we got them!

Gotta really watch that ceiling fan now!

I posted earlier about the bunnies being turned around and finally got a picture of one of them. Silly boy!

We had a friend come in from Texas this week for spring training baseball. It is super big here in Arizona. There are MANY teams that come here. Saturday we all went to see the Brewers play the Dodgers. It was perfect weather. 75 degrees and sunny. We got lawn seats and just hung out on a blanket in the outfield.

I found my camera. Now I just need to put new batteries in it! We survived another long week! I think I posted before that I got a promotion at work to office manager/assistant director. Well- I love my job but am having a hard time working full time!!! I have been working part time since November and have now worked my new hours for the past 3 weeks. I'm tired all the time and can't get caught up on house work and laundry!! : ( I have been at home with Luke since December 2006 and before that worked 4 days a week. I haven't worked Fridays EVER and now I work 10 to 6. Don't get me wrong- I'm not complaining. I was truely blessed with this opportunity. It is just an adjustment. Now when I get home especially on Friday I don't want to do anything except put on my pj's and sit on the couch!!

I did put up my Easte decorations last week and Luke was sooo excited! We have been telling him to be good because the Easter bunny won't fill his Easter basket with surprises if he is not good. I have a lot of little trinket Easter bunnies around the house for decoration and Juven told Luke that the little bunnies in the house were watching him and report back to the Easter bunny at the bunny patch. So-- Luke went around the house and turned all the bunnies around so that they couldn't see him. I told him they still could see him and knew if he was being good. He said no they can't! They can't see me when they are turned!! I even turned them all back the right way last night before bed and when he got home from school today he turned them around again!!
We are headed off to some spring training baseball games this weekend with a friend visiting from Texas. So hopefully we'll have some rest and relaxation!!

I have misplaced my camera! Since I have started back to work full time I am more scatter brained than before! I love my job though!! This weekend was busy! We went to some friends house Friday night and Saturday Juven finaly got his Arizona drivers liscence! We then went to some other friends for brunch and Mexican train dominoes. Sunday we played at the part and Luke rode his bike. The weather has been beautiful! We also have been on the hunt for bedroom furniture for Luke's room in hopes we will like sleeping in there. We got him a bunk bed set that will be delivered on Thursday and he is super excited about that! He wants his room done is trains but I'm not sure how to pull that off. I haven't seen any train decor anywhere?... So, not sure what we will do. At least now when Juven's parents and sister come to visit in April we will have a place for them all to sleep and his sister won't have to sleep on the couch. Our friend Tim is coming for a visit this week and we will be going to some spring training baseball games. Luke has not been to a baseball game yet but will be sooo excited. Hopefully I will have found my camera by then!!

Not a lot has been going on out here. Just working away and enjoying the last few months of beautiful weather. I did get a promotion at work to assistant director. I absolutely love my job and believe I have found my ninch. It is so great being able to be so close to Luke all day. I can just walk down the hall anytime to check in on him. It is so funny to hear his buddies say, "Luke, your mom is here!" They had a parade today for Dr. Seuss's birthday and cupcakes on the playground. Juven has been working hard. He hasn't had to travel much lately which has been nice. We are hoping to get a sledding trip in soon before the season is over but just seem to want to stay close to home on the weekends lately. Juven's parents and sister will be here for a week in April for Easter so we are looking forward to that. I will get my camera going again to post pics.

Happy Valentine's!

This is Luke's first Valentine's party! He had a blast and loved giving and of course receiving Valentine's from all his buddies.

All the kids loved their treats and had a great time!!

Saturday we went to Cave Creek to a art festival and to see their cool old down town.

We had lunch at a Mexican resturaunt that had an outside pond full of ducks and turtles.

After lunch we headed off for some high country to play in the snow.

This was only about 90 miles from our house!!

I know I haven't updated in a while. I've been trying to get back into a routine and obviously not doing a very good job of it. We have really been enjoying January- for once. 75 degrees and don't miss the cold one bit! If we want winter we can drive 2 hours to Flagstaff to go sledding and then come back home! These first pics are a trip to the zoo a couple of weeks ago. Luke looking at a wild turkey.

On the playground.

Playing on a real tractor.

Luke and Daddy.
These next pics are from Luke's actual birthday. His favorite color is organge and he wanted orange cupcakes. We couldn't find any so we got white ones and knocked off the white frosting and put orange frosting back on them!

Who is that big boy??

I don't know why but I haven't been in the "writing"mood lately to tell any good stories. Maybe I need to read my dear friend Monica's blog- she alway inspires me with good stories.
