Santa Came!

Santa came early this morning! He had a present that wouldn't fit on his sleigh with all the other toys so he delivered it early! He brought Luke a Polar Express train set. He also left a jingle bell under Lukes bed. ( You'll understand if you've seen the movie). The train is a little advanced for him. It is for 8 years and older so we have had several lectures on how important it is to be careful. Santa got a good deal on it that he couldn't pass up. I think it will be put up with the Christmas decorations to save for next year and hopefully avoid being torn up. Little Luke is just in heaven! He was so excited this morning he was shaking!!

Winter Wonderland

We ventured off to the mountains yesterday and went sledding! I don't think I have been sledding since I was very little. We had soooo much fun. Flagstaff got a ton of snow last week and the town was a complete winter wonderland.

Luke was scared at first but after a few times down the "baby" hill he loved it! Everytime we would go down he would say, " Is that fun?!! I wanna go again!!" This place was so neat. It had several different sized hills to go down and an area to just play in the snow.

Friday night was spent shopping for snow boots. We had a hard time finding Luke some boots and finally had to spend $40!! This was a lot considering he will only wear them this year. However, they were well worth the money. I, of course, (this won't surprise you) went for "cute." My ding dong self got the cute boots that were not water proof. By the time we were done my socks were soaked. I also, not thinking, wore jeans and froze by back side. I also, in the rush to get everyone ready and extra clothes for luke, a bag for Stinky to go doggy day care, snacks .... etc. I did not pack me extra clothes. So, I made Juven stop at Target to get me some sweats and warm socks.

We then drove the scenic drive back through Sedona to eat dinner. There is a fudge factory we always go to that has the BEST pecan turtles I have ever had. They make your toes curl!! Okay- so trying to keep Luke from a tantrum because he was exhausted and finding him a chocolate chip cooking we dropped the turtles on the sidewalk. Five second rule, right? Yup, we were not about to give up those turtles!! Just blew on them and enjoyed!! This is nothing compared to Thursday night when we ate moldy beef jerky unknowingly! That is a whole nother story!! K- hope you enjoy the pics!!

Little Cutie

Here are a couple of pics of little Luke being silly. It's amazing how big he has gotten but he is still so little. He is sooo excited about Christmas coming. Every day he talks about presents under the tree and walks around singing the Polar Express song. Hopefully we will get a picture with Santa this year, but I really don't think he will cooperate.

We have booked tickets to ride the Polar Express train from Williams AZ to the Grand Canyon. It is set up just like the movie. The kids wear their pj's and they serve hot chocolate and then Santa comes to give all the kids a gift. I, of course, waited too long to get the tickets and we couldn't get on until after Christmas, but that's ok. I'm sure it will still be a blast.

Only eleven more days to go home to Texas!!! YEE HAA!!!

2 Times

Wow! I'm doing good. Twice in one week!! Just wanted to post a pic of our tree to get the Christmas spirit on our page. Hope you all are doing well. I also have finally made the decision to do all of my Christmas shopping once we get to Texas. Then all I have to worry about it getting it home instead of getting it there and home. Wish me luck! Also- if you read this LET ME KNOW & LEAVE A COMMENT!! I'm new at this and want to make sure that my sister, Tracy and Monica are not the only ones reading. They are my faithful followers. :)

A little late

I know it has taken me forever to update! Sooo sorry. I have had the hardest time getting caught up on house work and laundry and trying to decorate for Christmas, not to mention the little almost 3 year old to keep up with!! Well, Juven took him to the grocery store so I had a minute.

Never seen snow on Thanksgiving that I can remember, but at Juven's mom's house it snowed all day. I was great. Luke got to play out in it with his cousins and I got to stay inside and warm! The picture of the little baby is of Juven's mom with her second great grandchild born just 2 weeks earlier. I held her for a long time and of course got major baby fever. That is until Luke got up that night and cried for 30 minutes. (Think he had a bad dream). Then I remembered how I love to sleep!

I finally got our tree done! YEAH!!! I seemed to take a lot longer this year. In years past Luke has left it alone. Well, not this year. Before I new it he had two Christmas balls and banging them together like a tambourine. It only took about three bangs before one shattered. Then he tried to help pick up the mess as I screamed "Your going to cut yourself!!!" Well, we managed to end up injury free.

Now I am having to mentally pack for our next trip before I can actually start packing. Still worried about flying back with Christmas and birthday presents. I'm sure it will all be fine as I will probably ship most of it back. Just being cheap I guess.

I am really starting to settle in finally. The trip back to Texas was good for me. I was excited to come back to Arizona. I just needed to see that I could go home whenever I needed and it is really not that far away. Hope you all enjoyed your Thanksgiving and are in the holiday spirit!
